In the case of Vortex, I actually like being slowed by the trims because it creates a "head over heels" feeling while going through the corkscrew. You feel like you're going to fall out of the train through this part (and you get the same feeling during the 1st part of the boomerang, also)and it's quite an experience.
The Vortex also has good airtime down the first drop, an intense turn going into the trims, and a good (but not great) helix at the end.
Vortex is one of my favorite loopers, and I think it's more intense than anything B&M has made recently. But...that's just my opinion. You're entitled to yours, Cobra Roll.
