Voltex at PKI

I hate this ride what a waste of money. The 1st part is ok where you hit the 2 loops but after that you get slow-ed down while entering the corksrew, 360 spin and thats it. PKI should of asked CCI or someone to build a woodie instead of the Voltex.

If you mean the Vortex, that ride was put up in the late 80's, before CCI existed.

I haven't ridden it in a while, but Vortex was my #2 Arrow looper for a long time, behind Steel Phantom. Of course, Phantom aged poorly, so Vortex may have suffered the same fate...

In the case of Vortex, I actually like being slowed by the trims because it creates a "head over heels" feeling while going through the corkscrew. You feel like you're going to fall out of the train through this part (and you get the same feeling during the 1st part of the boomerang, also)and it's quite an experience.
The Vortex also has good airtime down the first drop, an intense turn going into the trims, and a good (but not great) helix at the end.
Vortex is one of my favorite loopers, and I think it's more intense than anything B&M has made recently. But...that's just my opinion. You're entitled to yours, Cobra Roll.

I was on Vortex@PKI earlier this year and it seems to have aged just fine. In terms of intensity, it is definately more intense than most B&Ms, thugh Kumba is pretty intense going through the thir element.

Um, no. Arrow mega loopers were hot then. It had the most inversions when it debued then, and I am sure it had long lines. This coaster is amazing. The Best arrow Loooper I have ever been on. I love how rough it is, it is like a battle, which makes it so fun!! That is oyur opinion, and this is my opinion.

Vortex is an awesome ride! I dont know w anyone would say it was a bad ride and wasnt worth the money. It may not be the best but is still 1 of the most intense rides around. So I think you get your moneys worth with Vortex. You have to think of it as sort of a milestone because it was 1 of the first of its kind.

In my opinion The Vortex is a great coaster. It has plenty of excitement, an extremely short line, not overly rough, and is fun going slow through the corkscrews, and I don't think it goes too slow. Coming out of your seat is really cool. This is a great ride, one of the best at PKI, but that's my opinion, and I respect yours completely.

I'll take the Vortex over Batman Knight Flight on any given day.
This looper is still one of the best IMHO.

Going through the corkscrews at that height(over 35'), and being able to walk up and almost touch the boomerang element on this ride is great. I rode it in 87 when it opened, and it ran awesome. And it even had the original "Vortex" name, with the steel fist grabbing the track logo.

It was my favorite ride at PKI and it is wonderfull. I have never ridden a steel looping coaster that gives you soo much air time. The corkscrews are the best part, just let go and close your eyes. It is encrdiable. I've only been to PKI once but I rode Vortex, 11 times. 9 in a row. FUNFUNFUNFUNFUNFUNFUNFUNFUNFUNFUFUNFUNFUNFUN

Vortex is an excellent ride, when you keep in mind that it was built in the 1980s. I really don't like to use the reference, "historical," but, it seems to be what I am getting at, especially since arrow mega-loopers are no longer being built.
