windjammer with just lap bars

Instead of taking the ride out, why didnt they just put lap bars, and remove the ostr's?

Well also you have to remember that Windjammer was a mechanic's nightmare. It had to be closed down when wind speeds reached 5 mph. So I guess KBF figured it was a waste of money and they could make more money out of a new coaster (and suing Togo ;)).

Windjammer was poorly built, but I think any mulit-element coaster would be amazing with just lapbars!

Hell, Schwartzkopft proved it over 20 yearss ago!

WindJammer's problems were far greater than just being an uncomfortable ride. The massive head trauma was the icing on the cake, so to speak.

 This is Togo we're talking about. If Manhattan Express just had lap bars, it would still rattle your teeth out.

In the lawsuit against Togo International, the ride had problems beyond what the guests were complaining about. Majority of the reasons for the removal was due to mechanical reasons. The biggest one was misaligned tracks. In addition to that, the trains had wrinkles in the mainframe and could not operate in winds as low as 3 mph in risk of stalling on the circuit. Even if lap bars replaced the OTSR, the ride still would have been removed in the near future.

Hey, did Knotts ever get anything out of Togo? Lawsuit-wise.

The ride was just boring anyway. I'm glad it's gone, so we can get something that's actually good.
