How far was your longest drive to coast.

I have to drive for 4 1/2 hours one way to get to Cedar Point. I just drove 3 hours to get to Stricker's Grove and on my way I started to feel like I was crazy, but I had a great time and it was definatly worth it. Anyway what was your longest drive just to ride some roller coasters only to head back home the same day?

I drove from home here on Long Island, NY to Six Flags Over Georgia :)  I don't know if it counts, though, because it wasn't continuous.  I was staying with a friend in Knoxville. 

In the same day, it'd probably still be the drive from Knoxville to Atlanta. . . 4 hours each way or so. . .

In a few weeks, I'm headed to SFA, and that'll be just a bit further. . .

Continuously: here to Kennywood, about 9 hours. With stops along the way (camping): here to IOA, combined about 27 hours.

19hrs straight to SFMM from Seattle (on my honeymoon, no less;))  My wife cried uncontrollably on Psyclone.  Who could blame her though?  She refused to ride Viper, but has since become a major enthusiast, and rode SD2K with me this summer.  I am so proud....*sigh*:)

10 Hours to Cincinnati from Greenville, SC. We encountered horriffic traffic jams in TN and KY. Afetr staying in Cincinnati, we drove 6 hours up to Sandusky. But it was worth every mile... :)

Jacksonville FL to Western PA / Eastern Ohio for Phantom's Revenge & X-Flight. About 900 miles.

Next year it's CP again (finally!) :)

All the way from Portland, Maine to Norfolk, Virginia in a rental car. We hit Palace Playland, Funtown USA, Hershey, BGW, and PKD.

6-9 hours [forgot exactly] from Buffalo (SFDL) to SFNE (we stayed in the Boston area, however...) was the longest drive for "just" a coaster/themepark destination... but it was well worth it!

I went from Cleveland to BGW and PKD **TWICE**  this year.  BGW is well worth it, but Hypersonic broke down BOTH TIMES!!!!!!   The second time, I had my a-- in the seat!!!!   AAAARRRRRRR!!!!

You are looking at a 9 hour drive each way, and I did it twice this year.

About an hour from San Francisco to Marine World.

My family never driven to anywhere outside Toronto.

It would be a 5-6 hour trip to Cedar Point from my home.

And similiar distance to Kennywood.

I live 15min from SFWoA and went the 2.5? hours to CP instead of the 15min to SFWoA. Also drove 1 hour each way just to ride the Blue Streak at Conneaut (and I wasn't dissapointed :) )

13 hours to Paramount Canada's Wonderland from the Milwaukee Wisconsin area.

Why is everyone listing the distance traveled in hours? Just curious. Time depends on how fast you drive, it has nothing to do with how far you went. We make the trip from FL to western PA every year. It's just shy of 900 miles. Depending on how determined we are to get there it can be done in as little as 12 hours (few rest stops, grab food at drive thru) or as many as 16 or 17 (many rest stops, stop for food, etc)

The hours are meaningless, the miles driven show how far you really went.

Umm....20 minutes to SFGAdv. LOL. I fly. Actually I get carsick, but I don't get sick on roller coasters or any ride.

Pittsburgh to Holiday World, roughly 460 miles, or 7-8 hours... (and worth every damn second of it ;) )
