B&M shuttle coaster?

As far as I know, B&M hasn't made any of these. I think it would be a good and inexpensive way for smaller parks to add a good ride that would atract customers. If B&M started making these, what kind of layouts would you like to see them make? Do you think that they could be succesful?, and since B&M already makes so many coasters, do you think that it would be a lucrative area of buiness to get into?

B & M already has a shuttle coaster, and they do offer shuttles on all of their coasters excluding their mega and divemachines. They'd done that for quite some time now actually.

maybe i'm not thinking right, but to me a shuttle is one that is relatively short and compact, and is not full-circuit(goes forwards and backwards,like deja vu). If this is correct, I am not aware of a B&M shuttle coaster either...where is it then???I think it would be a good idea for them, but it seems to me as if B&M only makes coasters it sees as exceptional, and shuttles are not really too exceptional, no matter how well they are done..

B&M has no shuttle coasters. I hope they don't make one, because they are not the shuttle company. The shuttle company is Vekoma, not B&M.

Who says that Vekoma is the "shuttle company"? If I remember right, Arrow and Schwartzkopf (sp) have built shuttle loopers in the past. And, I'm sure that if B&M wanted to build shuttle coasters and saw a market out there for them, they would.

Don't forget Intamin. I can see the impulse becoming the new boomerang.

I think danish_d is thinking Hulk is a shuttle coaster. Shuttle means more than "launched."

I haven't been on a boomerang, but the concept sounds like a winner. A longer looping ride that stops at some point and goes backwards would just be incredible! Launch, corkscrew, overbanked turn, loop, 110 degree spike(HE HE), then backwards and through the station with another overbanked turn behind it and another 110 spike. Mmmm, some shuttles should be explored.

Maybe it's just an existing ride(like Volcano) but their site is rather vague, but it may be something different. I can't tell what it is.

It's just their way of saying "launched inverted." To my knowledge, Volcano is the only one they have built. Come to think of it, I'm pretty sure Volcano is still the only full-circuit launched inverted coaster in the world, regardless of manufacturer.

What they mean by suspended catapult is that it is launched and suspended. For example, Volcano the Blast Coaster, V2, and S:UE.

By shuttle company I don't mean only they can make them, but they are generally the first choise for parks when getting a shuttle. How many parks recently have gotten a shuttle which is new, and isn't a Vekoma? I can think of 4. The park Linear Gale is at, the park the newest impulse is at, and the 2 SF parks. Otherwise almost all new shuttles are Vekoma. I'm not trying to say they are the only ones who make them, but they generally are the ones who make them.

It does look like Volcano before all the seats, I wish they gave a little description on there, though. It looks like those guys can make just about anything.

The whole concept of running at full speed on a short track is great, it's like doing 100 in a 35MPH zone. Intamin has made some memorable shuttles, especially the new LIM stuff(build closer to me:)) and some classic Scwartzkopfs, but you're right, if anybody gets to be "the" shuttle company it does have to be Vekoma based on numbers alone.

LMAO!!!! Vekoma isn't much of a company anyways...

Their reps don't like to leave there country for their job, so they do everything half butt. Hence why there coasters are only smooth for about a month.

i think the term "shuttle" regarding a coaster was coined by Swartzkopfs shuttle loop coasters. not sure how the term came about, but as far as i know, it was first used to describe his designs...PKD had the first one, King Cobra which opened in 1977...i think it was the first..and it was called a shuttle loop

Why hasn't anyone mentioned Premier? It seems to me like they're the up and comers in the shuttle business, with the 2 Mr. Freezes, S:TR, and B&R. I have a feeling that Premier launchers and impulses will be filling the void that Vekoma is going to leave.

I agree with you there about forgetting Premier, they are the up and coming company, IMO. Premier seems to be actively involved on improving rides that are already there, that shows heart. I still think Intamin first just because of who they are unless I'm thinking wood. I thought Intamin produced the Schwartzkopf Loops for the most. They were one of the companies to use the man.

Anyways, when I was little and would sit around dragging my feet and making noises, my mom would tell me not to shuttle my feet. It didn't make much sense then.
