I don't know if i'm thinking I saw this or if it was posted here before. I thought I heard someone mention a plastic coaster. I think the rails were made of PVC pipe or somthing. Am I dreaming or is there a plastic coaster?

That's why I reposted it here. I checked the past topics (well the last half and got sick of looking). I'm sure someone will post.

You're not dreaming.

The Pipeline Express is a Canadian-built "Auto Sled" roller coaster at Putt 'N Pond on Ohio SR-12 just West of Fostoria. The ride has a colorful steel backbone, supports, and track ties, and PVC pipe rails. The coaster is built on a waterslide tower, and uses these strange little one-passenger cars with itty bitty wheels. If you go, be advised that the weight limit is something like 200 pounds per car.

There are photos on the 'Net, assuming that the ancient rec.roller-coaster FTP server is still up, taken by yours truly...

Those pictures were taken during the 1994 season.

Bailey has built other similar coasters, but the Pipeline Express is unique in that it is the only one now operating with the PVC rails. At least one other was built with the plastic rails, but was converted to steel; others were constructed with steel rails from the beginning.

They don't? The URLs should be good, although POPForum doesn't link FTP:// urls, so you'll have to copy and paste them in your browser. Those addresses worked when I tried them...
But they're my photos anyway; I am sure I have them on disk here someplace...give me a couple of days and I'll put a web page together...
