Early 2001 planning

Hey everyone. I am working on 2 different plans for 2001, and they both seem to work out good, but what is your opinion.

Plan 1

Buy a Six Flags Season Pass, and hit the follow SF parks:

Great Adventure
Great Escape
New England
Ohio
America

OR

Spend a lot more money on seperate parks, and hit:

Lake Compounce
Kennywood
Hershey
PKD
Busch Gardens Williamsburg

I agree, do both if you can. If not, why not save yourself some money, we can't all be Richard hatch.

I'd focus on plan two as my first priority. With boulder dash at lake compounce (CCI) phantom's revenge, and busch gardens those look better (and probably have better ride ops) then the SF parks. SFO, well I think we all know about that park. Look at jeffs info on Busch gardens and boulder dash. He has excellent reports on them. Heck he is super in his knowledge of coasters.

Whose Line is it Anyway?

Thanks for your help guys. I think I am leaning towards plan 2. With Boulder Dash, Phantom's Revenge, Ireland, Hypersonic XLC, and hopefully the rumored S+S towers at Hershey Park, this looks like the better plan.

CP's Overrated

I'd skip the three Six Flags parks that you've been to. Great Escape may not be included in the season pass.

Maybe choose from Lake Compounce, SFNE, SFDL, SFOhio, Michigan's Adventure, Kennywood, BGW, PKD and HersheyPark.

If you like hypercoasters, add Dorney for Steel Force.

I know Michigan's Adventure is a little far from Long Island, but Shivering Timbers is worth a trip from anywhere.

Start with that list and maybe eliminate the closer parks to be used for "day trips".

Ok, so right now, the only Six Flags that can be definite for me is Great Adventure, because I can't wait to ride the hyper they are getting. The only other SF park right now that is in consideration is America, because I cant wait for 2001's plans, and Superman is the best darn hyper out there.

The parks I definitely want to hit, are Lake Compounce and Kennywood, because they are very cheap, and PKD and BGW because Hypersonic looks awesome, and so does Apollo and Alpengeist. Those are 4 definites right now: PKD,BGW,Lake Compounce, and KW. Now I'm looking to add 2 more parks to this list. I really wanna go to Hershey, because I havent been there since I was 5, and I really want to get on all the nice coasters there. So that leaves one opening. I'll have to think this one over.

As much as I would like to get out to Michigan's Adventure one day, it's not going to happen this year. While I'm still in high school, I think Sandusky is as far as I'll get, but when I get my car, I'm soooo there.

CP's Overrated

If you are in PA near Hershey drive to Knoebels. I can't say anything bad about this park. Go over to URC and read all the positive TR's about it. It's only about 3 1/2 hours from NYC. Do a two or three day trip hitting Knoebels, Hershey and Dorney all three are within an hour and a half of each other.
As for Six Flags find out which has the cheapest season passes. I live in PA and bought Kentucky Kingdom passes this year for $45. I think Great Adventure wanted around $100 for them. Sure We had a long drive but we hit Holiday World and PKI too. On the way home we hit SFA for $8 parking. So far with our SFKK passes we hit SFKK, SFA(2),
SFGAdv, SFNE, SFO, and Wyandot Lake for Free just parking. Then we showed our passes at Great Escape and got in for half price. I'd say we got our $45 worth. I think SFA are cheaper than SFGAdv too. Shop around.
