Scariest memory on a rollercoaster

I'll never forget how scared I was the first time I went on Supreme Scream at Knott's. You feel so vulnerable out there 260+ feet in the air with you legs dangling. The ride to this day still freaks me out. I love it though. But I must conquer my fear of Skycoasters. Dive Devil here I come.

On to the topic, mine would have to be standing inline liine for the first ride on MF, but as soon as I got into the car and pulled the lap bar down I was fine. Then I looked up the 300' hill, scared again, got to the top raised my hands and was fine.

FTF, where do you live?

Yes I agree about looking up at the MF lift hill. It was a wee bit intimidating. I wasn't scared though. I was too pumped to be! You get up there pretty quickly huh? :)

My scariest moment on a coaster was Dueling Dragons [Islands of Adventure]. It was scarry because my over the shoulder restraints almost popped loose and opened.

This is not my scariest coaster memory, but it is my MOTHER'S scariest memory. I was about 10 and FINALLY had begged and pleaded enough to be allowed to ride my first coaster with my father. We got on the Racer at Kennywood. Mother, not understanding the pretzel track, didn't know the trains did not come back on the same side of the platform as they left from. Not seeing in the same place we started, she was convinced we had both fallen out of the ride and were dead. I didn't get to ride another coaster until I had moved out of the house in my 20's.

My scairest moment on a coaster was when I rode the Blue Streak at CP for the first time. It was my first ever rollercoaster and thrillride (if you don't count the tilt-a-whirl) I was about 6 and 1/2 years old, almost 7 and I barley met the height requirements. I was a very thin kid, and although the lap bar was fastened as tight as it could be, it was still pretty loose for me. I never went on any coasters until last year when I conqured the raptor, and finally the millenium force this year. Now I'll go on anything.

Scariest moment on a rollercoaster: first time on Goliath. It was my first ever Hypercoaster. When you crest that hill at 238 feet and look down at the ground and the small tunnel hole waiting for you at the bottom, it was a very intense experience. I'm sort of afraid of heights so it was a pretty scary up there. Although, it is one of my favorite rides now. Peace. :)

A bad day at Cedar Point is better than a good day at work.

My scariest ride had to be just recently when I saw a few boards fall off the Tornado at Adventureland while I was at the ride. I was afraid the whole thing would end up falling apart as the screeching sound from the turnaround is nasty, (and the ride was rough as heck, and of course the fact that the thing was falling apart).

Big Shot! My hands are sweaty just thinking about it. When I got in that seat, I wanted to die. I was so scared I was nearly crying. But as soon as it got half way up the tower I had my hands up and laughing my head off! I'll do it agian but that first time was pretty crazy!

I totally agree with you that we need to get to more parks. I think I will be attending Michigans Adventure next year, and may also be taking a visit to Cedar Point. I have a friend (Intaminfan2000) who is taking a trip next year touring 15 parks in 10 states, mostly on the East coast. With any kind of luck, I will somehow (not likley) end up going with him, and I believe that it will be worth every penny that I will have to work like crazy to get. Well, heres hoping.

P.S. Long live the Blue Streak, it's now a favorite on my list.

I also forgot. When I went on my eigth grade trip to Chicago we went to SFGAm. This was in 98' and we were riding Demon and on the last corkscrew my restraints came up, to the point where the bottom (curve part) was eye level. It was up all the way through the corkscrew then on the pullout I pulled it down. I told my friends and they were like no way, but they believed me. We then rode it 10 more times, 6 in a row, and it happened again and to my friend. Now that is scary.

P.S. a month later the back wheel fell off and the train got stuck.

Shivering Timbers is the best coaster for AIRTIME that I've been on (Steel or Wood). Check to see if they are going to have TimbersFest (had 3 hours of ERT on June 3rd the day after CoasterMania at CP). We were able to get 20 rides in the 3 hours.

It looks like you live in Ohio, so its not that far, if you consider that I'm from Connecticut, and I plan on making there at least once next year. *** This post was edited by coaster ed on 8/25/2000. ***

my scariest moment was going on montezuma's revenge the first time at knotts berry farm, it was my first loop, and i was so scared, i was whining not to go on it, the ride launched off, and when that short ride was over, i was still so scared, i got off the wrong side! lol, montezuma's revenge is now one of my favorits in the world. :)

I do plan to go to Michigan's Adventure, most likley in late July, early Agust. We go camping every year at a campground called P.J. Hoffmaster, which is located just South of Michigans Adventure, by lake Michigan. I live in a city called Harper Woods, which is unfortunatly not in Ohio, but a little way away from East Detroit. I'm about 99% sure that I will be going there, but the only bad part is that it is nearly a year away.:(
