Sad News for Stratosphere

Well everyone I have some sad news. Thursday night was the City of Las Vegas Planning Commision meeting. The one where Stratosphere went to try to get approval for the new ride. I sat and watched this thing for a good 45 minutes or so as tons of people against it stood up and protested it.

In the end the motion for approval was denied. And a motion for denial was passed. This means they cannot go ahead with the project, just yet. The head of the board said that this project would not pass in its current state...whatever that means. So what does this mean for us thrill riders. In October, this plan will go to the City Council. If they approve it then it will go back to planning commision for a second chance.

If you guys could have watched it, it was tense. People yelling and everything. In the end it came down to a single vote. Two NO's (for it), Three YES's (against it), and an abstension.

AAAAWWWW...:( I was really hoping it would pass. I'm crossing my fingers for the city council boys to go easy on us...:)

That really ticks me off! :(  I was really hoping to get out to Las Vegas next year and ride this awsome coaster, but it doesn't look like I will be able too now!! :(  People shouldn't complain about stuff like that because they were stupid enough to move into the part of Las Vegas that would be filled with expansions, people and of course thrill rides!! I know thrill rides weren't even introduced into the Las Vegas area until like 1997 or something like that, but anyone could figure out that Las Vegas would join in and build some coasters! :( :(

Yeah, I posted it as news a day or two ago. Too bad.
