Americana: Things are looking up!

I know we've all been frustrated with the happenings at Americana the past few years, but it seems that things are starting to look promising for a 2002 opening!

I was over at the Unofficial Americana Site where they have some pictures of construction going on at the park.  The most telling signs, I think, are  the new gates around the children's attractions, and the old children's ferris wheel being placed out by the entrance.

That for sure looks all good. Last I heard, somebody told me not to worry about Americana, that it was history for many reasons, but this changes things! Looks like somebody may leave NC and visit their father in Indiana for a while if everything works out! Just hope it's all true.

Those photos were from last year before Jerry Couch never opened the park this year.  I don't know what they have done this year.  I did hear that Mr. Couch hired an outside concession company to run the food stands.  I do hope that Americana does open next year.
