mgm grand adventures theme park, lv

hey what ever happened to that mgm grand park in las vegas???? does any one have any pics of what it looks like now or any info???? thanks!

I went to it several years ago and it was a waste of time. The only rollercoaster was a jr. one and the rest of the rides are/were lame. I think they closed it, although I am not sure.
I pretty sure the only way to get in is for a private event. They took out most of the rides except for Lightning Bolt and the Skycoaster.

Yes, PT300 is correct. They closed the park last year, I believe, and took out most of the attractions to make way for a larger meeting center. The only rides that remain are the Lightning Bolt and the Skycoaster, as PT300 also mentioned. I went there the first year it opened and thought it was a neat little place, but then I went back in 1999 and they had swapped half of the park with a huge spa place! Granted the spa place looked VERY nice, but it's a shame they couldn't keep the place going.
Actually the majority of the rides are still there. Seems that they never sold most of them. I still work there on an on-call basis.

BTW...Its now called The Park @ MGM Grand

I went by it when I was in Vegas, and it looked so lonely. I wanted to get out of the car, and climb over the fence to ride the coaster. Was there also a log flume type ride there? I thought I saw one.

I went there back in 1995 and it was pretty crowded, but it was a very small park. Yes, there is a log flume. Lighting Bolt used to be indoors, but it's outside now and a bit bigger. They had a couple of fun things to do there, but nothing to scream about. My last trip to Las Vegas I took this year and the half of the park as been overrun by a luxury spa. And it's true that the park is only open for buisness type events now.
The rides that were open in the last season of public operation included Lightning Bolt, Over the Edge, Sky Screamer, Grand Canyon Rapids, Carousel, Parisian Taxis, Peddlin Pedal Boats, Red Baron, and a kids bumper boat ride. It also consisted of a 650 indoor theatre with outdoor Gun fight area called Gold Rush Theatre (much like how SFMM has/used to have gun fights outside the Golden Bear Theatre. Also theres a indoor 700 seat theatre called Magic Screen Theatre, and the outdoor 900 seat Pirate's Cove Ampitheatre. There were also two performance stages. None of this stuff is really used all at the same time anymore as it depends on how much the clients want to spend.
