Top Gun: The Jet Coaster at Carowinds deserves the title-"most underrated steel coaster in America!" In fact, Carowinds is hardly talked about at all.
As for woodies, many of CCI's wonderful creations are never talked about.

I totally agree Jammin J.  Top Gun is an awesome ride.  It is quite intense.  There is almost no time between the Vertical Loop, the Immelman, and Zero G-Roll and Batwing.  It is one of my favorite B&M inverts.  As for the park, no one talks about it but really there isn't anything that great there, except Hurler and Top Gun.  People have forgotten about Carowinds but that is Paramounts fault.  The park needs some new cutting edge roller coasters now! A Wild Mouse just doesan't cut it, even though I sorta want to ride it.

One word NITRO.

The R CAN SAW TWISTER--Arkansas Twister. No on can believe how fast it goes (around 60),and smooth, then they slam in to the old parts that have not really been worked on. Its still classic Cobb.

Yeah, you don't really hear that much about Carowinds, seems like. I will be going there next year, so I hope to ride all of the coasters there! I also think that the coasters at SFSTL don't get very much attention. Mr. Freeze and the Boss are some of my favorite coasters! I LOVE the mine train! lol I think it is a fun little ride! lol

The ride that sticks out most in my mind was the Lightning Bolt at the old MGM Grand Adventure.  The ride was not tall, fast, anything like that.  But the special effects inside while riding and the general good ride you felt.  Also, Canyon Blaster at Circus Circus is another one that doesn't get much notice at all.

Top Gun at PGA is absolutely INCREDIBLE! I rarely hear things about that one, and it's one of the few B&M inverts that has the intensity of Batman, but has a completely different layout. I also think Roar at SFA needs more attention. Definitely Montezooma's Revenge. Also, Big Bad Wolf is wonderful, I rarely hear about that one.

The Hurricane at Myrtle Beach. It's a pretty fun ride and gives some good airtime.

Cedar Point- The Amazement Park!

I have to agree that grizzly  at PKD is an under respected coaster. I remember riding that thing when I was young like 10 ( I was a pretty small kid I didn;t break 4 feet tall until I was11 or 12) and I rode in the back and got som serious ejector seat air I thought I was gonan fly out of the thing! the memories to this day it is still the best ride I've had on a woodie.

how about the coasters in Las Vegas and other Casinos?  I know that I loved Canyon Blaster at the Circus Circus.  A great, fast layout considering its inside.  Also, I loved the Desperado at Bufallo Bill's, or at least I loved the first drop.  I think it could have used another big drop like on Goliath, but its still a very good ride.

X-Factor, I'd have to agree that Ohio has 3 great rides in Gemini, Big Dipper, and Racer.  I think Gemini still holds the record for capacity (not sure).  Other coasters I can think of are at small parks with only one or two rides.  Mustang mentioned hotel coasters.  And I'll add that the "class of 2000" was SO great, some really good coasters got caught up in the mix and didn't get the attention they deserved.

I was just at Carowinds the other day.  It had been years since I was there and I was sad to see the Wayne's World theming gone, but that was kind of dated stuff so I understand.  The park is pretty nice.  I liked Top Gun, but it wasn't anything that hasnt been done already.  The staff was slow and disinterested though.

The park lacks the atmosphere of a park like Cedar Point.  Although I wouldn't really compare the two fairly.  It was a definitely worth going to.

The Giant Dipper @ Belmont Park. I wonder how many San Diegans know about it?

Revolution at Sfmm. The ride is so much fun, Theres loads of twisting drops, The Loop is very intense and fun (5 gs I think) and there is a great banked turn at the end that makes you feel like you are falling off. I love Revolution.

Someone refered to the hiddeness of the grizzly at pkd. I think pkd should use the area to the right of the ride for a new themed area for flat rides and such. The grizzly wouldn't be hidden behind the arcade anymore but still in what's left of its woods

Carowinds is my home park and yes the rides are practically forgotten in the era of super parks like Cedar Point and SFMM. You gotta admit though  they used to come up with some original names Thunder Road White Lightnin Frenzoid and Whirling Dervish
