What's "in", what's "out"

According to Entertainment Weekly's little weekly report on what's hip and what's not, Coney Island is "in," California Adventure is "five minutes ago" and SFGAdv is "out." 

Not that this means anything.  I'd rather die than follow stupid Hollywood trends.  Just thought it was interesting is all.  Especially since those types obviously live their whole lives without seeing any cities except LA and NYC, except from 30,000 feet.

What? They no nothing about the "coaster world." We CE don't tell them what's "in" and what's "out" in Hollywood.

First of all, SFGAv is "IN!" They just added a 230 foot tall B&M Hypercoaster.

That's stuck-up Hollywood people for ya!

Interesting. What is it supposed to mean? Who decides this and how do they decide it? I suppose it might be good for Coney Island which can always use some positive press. Can't you just see the throngs of people abandoning Great Adventure and swarming all over Coney Island?

I think I'll save this little topic to whip out whenever people question my total lack of interest in and knowledge about Hollywood

right well these are the same people that said that those huge neon-colored sunglasses were "in".

I agree with the DCA being "5 minutes ago", but that's only because I have a grudge against Disney.

I would say Disney, and Disney park, is out.  With all of their cost cutting and the crap park known as California Adventure, everything is IN over Disney.

I wasn't very impressed with Disney's California Adventure, it didn't have hardly any rides or attractions worth seeing, though California Screamin' was an excellent coaster, (I love the music that is paced with the ride).

Grrrr....don't like the entire Hollywood pop culture. So i'll go with SFGAdv and not with Coney Island. Why did they choose these 3 parks, why not PGA or IOA?

In case you didn't get it, the reason they picked those three parks is that those three parks are either in LA or New York City (or vicinity).  Like I said, it just proves that people in Hollywood never see America unless they're filming a movie on location.

Local traditional amusement parks are "in." Large destination chain parks are "out." Atleast during our slowing economy...;)

After my experiences this summer, large theme parks are "out" and small family-owned parks are definitely "in" with me.  I'm convinced the public would feel the same way if everyone went to Holiday World and Kennywood.

Small parks are definitely "in" with me as well. Coney Island may be "in" but NYC has been "out" with me for as long as I can remember!

Speaking of the whole NYC/LA wordview. Back in NJ, my girlfriend was working for a woman who didn't know that Rt 80 went anyplace other then NYC ("what do you mean you are taking 80 to Ohio, it only goes east")!

I was giving directions to a woman to get to my office here on the north side.  She lives in New Albany (ultra-ultra rich neighborhood for those who don't know).  I told her to take 161 straight here (a road that runs through New Albany and the north side).  She said, "161 goes that far?!?"
