New Expansion Pack!

There has been official announcement by Hasbro that another expansion pack will indeed be released later this year. It is because of the success of the first one, over half of the original RCT owners have bought it, and AA has only been out for what, five months?! I think this is great, and I hope that there will finally be four across inverted trains!:)

Where did you find this information?

Hasbro has made no such announcement. No press release has been issued. They have surveyed a random group of registered users, but no announcement has been made. Chris Sawyer has reportedly denied that he is working on a sequel.

I was browsing through the forums over at Danimation and found a link to some press article that stated that Hasbro is planning to release a second add-on pack this year sometime. The article wasn't actually about RCT, though. It was more talking about the popularity of some of Hasbro's family oriented games, so whether they're really planning to release it is still speculation. I hope they do, but I'm not keeping my fingers crossed until I hear some more concrete information.

Jeff, I never said that Chris had anything to do with it, and it is quite possible that Hasbro may have bought the rights. That would make sense, considering that almost half the people that bought the first have bought the add-on. The way that article is written, however, leads me, at least, to believe that a second is indeed being released.

Now that an official press release has been made, I believe it. Everything prior to that was speculation based on the fact they were doing a survey.

Here's a quote I found from Chris Sawyer:

"...he knows nothing about it. This is what he said exactly:

'I found a press release quoting Tom Dusenberry (boss of HI) saying that there will be a further RCT add-on pack later this year. And I've just had an email from the marketing anager,
who was convinced that a further add-on was in production. I feel like I've just woken up in an alternative reality! Someone's going to end up with egg on their face, and it won't be me.'"

Who knows what's going on. Is it real or isn't it? Only time will tell.

They would never make such a statement if it was not true. Especally by the President of Hasbro Interactive.

The question now is, what the heck is going to be on this sequal add-on?

I agree that I don't know why Hasbro would make the statement if it weren't true. I'm just throwing out some other info I've found. I'm staying neutral. I don't believe it is or isn't coming out, but I HOPE it does. I love this game. I do have to agree, that I can't think of anything else really to add to what there already is.
