A LIM launched Water Flume?

I got the idea of a LIM launched water flume when I watched one of the coaster shows. It featured
S:UE and Perilous Plunge. I knew that Intamin has pioneered it LIM/SLM launched thrill rides...

Do you guys think that this is possible?

Would it be safe to keep LIM's or LSM's in the water? It sure would be a whole different water ride experience.

Here's a crude drawing. It's pretty much be a Superman: The Escape on water with a flume "boat".

If the water being throw up by the acceleration of the boat be too forceful for the guests? If so, do you think that several thousands of gallons of water could be pumped into the "lake" for the few seconds the boat is out of the water?

Give me your thoughts, comments, and questions.

Hey I thought of that! Way back...I am gonna find that post too...!

Here! I knew I came up with this a long time ago!

Actually, I think Perilous Plunge has LIMs for braking.

Doesn't Premeir already have an LIM launched water flume some where west of the Mississippi????

I really wouldn't be suprised if we see one in the future with vertical lifts and drops.

If the LIMS were sumurged into the water, the force of the water would most likely cause the Boat to go slower and possible stop suddenly and frequently.  But, good idea! ;)

What about if you launched on a long dry track and then went into the water.

Perilous Plunge uses magnets to stop the ride because of the confined amount os space the ride used. The ride needs to be stopped quickly so the ride would not take up much slowing down and stopping area....... so the brakes are magnets to quickly stop the 120 foot (tallest in the world)70* descent log flume fast in its tracks.

Hey, the launch could be, say 10 ft above the water or pointed slightly uphill. Viola! A skipping stone you can ride! :)

Can we say whiplash? :o)

But yeah, it'd be a nice idea, if not a little dangerous.

I think that would be a totally amazing experience.  But I wonder if it would be too much.  I think that LIM might be too much with not only air, but water rushing into your face.  Plus it might take a lot of power, because the water would add a lot of friction to the launch.

When I hear LIM Launched Water Ride I think about a speed boat. What if passengers boarded a 12 passenger "speed boat" that traveled over the course of a lake or river. In reality the boat is attactched to an underwater track and powered by positioned lims. The water is shallower than you think so friction is just right.

Dude that would be sweet reaching 60 miles per hour before being bulleted into a big river of water!  Talk about an adrenaline rush!
