San Diego?

Does anyone know of the possibility of a theme park in SD? Cedar Fair owns a soak city in a very undeveloped area that looks to be perfect for a park, but there hasn't been any action.

We have sea world. Might they put in a Kraken West? Or am I dreaming. The only roller coaster we have is the Giant Dipper at Belmont Park. Is there any hope for the future? SFMM is 4 hours away!

There are three coasters at Legoland. While they maybe considered family coasters, Technic Test Track is an amazing little ride. It has one heck of a first drop for a wild mouse.
As far as the property adjoining Soak City, we'll just have to wait and see what CF will do with it.

I haven't been to legoland in a while. Dragon was fun too

I am dreaming of a decent thrill park to be built here in San Diego, however, I haven't heard of anything. So basically I'm just hoping that Sea World will come through with at least one coaster and also for Atlantis to be built. Right now, I just consider Knott's and SFMM as my home parks. I drove from San Diego to Magic Mountain in under 3 hours last year.

Kraken West? They already have that. It's called Medusa.

Yeah, I forgot how short of a drive it is from San Diego to Vallejo. Oh yeah, I also forgot that Medusa is at a Six Flags park, not Sea World.

In Reality it should only take 2 hours to drice to sfmm from San Diego, but the problem is to get there when the park opens you have to go through some horrible traffic. Last time I went It took 4 hours and I didn't get there till 12

In the 70's, there were plans to build an aviation-themed park here. Perhaps it should be rekindled.

I heard rumors about rides at Soak City...that'll probably never happen though. I'm sure Knott's doesn't want to compete with itself.

If you did SD to SFMM in under 3 hours, you weren't exactly doing the speed limit, were you?
That is unless you live in the northern most section of the county. It might be possible then.But not from South Bay or East County.

sorry man, but the irvine company own all of that land, or else it's state property. No coaster giant near there soon. I was just there and no construction activity there.

if you live in north county and use the carpool lane you can get there in 2:15-2:30 depending on how fast you drive

Even if they did put a coaster in at Sea World I wouldnt pay that price to ride one coaster.

That's why you buy the SeaWorld FunPass. For the cost of one admission, you get in for the rest of the year(with the exception of specified blackout dates. These are high traffic holidays on which I wouldn't want to be there anyway.)Just pay the parking fee and you're in.
