Cool Locations for a coaster in Major City

I would like to see a vertical coaster of the top of the sears tower, or an iverted on the World's Trade Center.

Summerfest grounds in Milwaukee would be a great place for a compact CCI twister !

For all cities that are on a riverfront -
a hyper/giga steel coaster that bridged the river several times would be amazing !

I think it would be cool to see a coaster go all around the Arch in St.Louis.

Right on coastergoose! I've always wanted a freefall ride put on the side of a skyscraper, especially on the Sears Tower.

yea! i was thinkin exactly that too. on the summerfest grounds. (summerfest is a big music festival on the milwaukee riverfront. britney spears, destinys child, blink 182, all kinds of people go there) anyway that would be the coolest place right over lake michigan and right in the middle of downtown.

La Ronde sits in a park on an island in the Saint Lawrence River, right in the middle of Montreal. There is a beautiful view of the night time skyline as you ride several of the parks coasters. And, of course, there is always Coney Island in New York City.

Although I don't see it happening Navy Pier in Chicago would be fabulous. They already have a giant Ferris Wheel, Merry-Go-Round and Swing ride and the location out on Lake Michigan would be breathtaking.

yeah navy peier would be incredible, i would like to see a coaster somewhere in the Boston area near the charles river. that would be sweet!!

I doubt you would see one on any of the skyscrapers in Chicago cause of the wind...it would never be able to open......Chicago is known as the windy city afterall

id like to see a Six Flags built in Vegas, but i guess that the seperate rides would lose tons of money if that happened...Maybe between the state line and Vegas would be a good location, like in Jean or something..

It didn't get the name for the ammount of air being blown through it, but by it's hot-winded politicians. As for it's windyness, I didn't notice it being any windier than other major cities.

Well, if you know Pittsburgh, you can envision an inverted coaster weaving around and through the downtown skyscrapers in my RCT recreation of Pittsburg's Luna Park.

The Arch is a national landmark and adding a roller coaster to it would really cheapen it.

Yeah....sorta. It's more of a lakefront location (Lake Michigan). It is near the river though. Also, anyone looking at that list of artists and thinking "Uhhhhgh, how awful !", let me reassure you that although Summerfest features those mainstream bands and more like them, that they also feature many, many other "more interesting" bands too. There are tons of local and regional bands, plus a lot of artists that are large, but not MTV fluff like those listed above (no offense if that is your taste). We are talking something like 10 stages of music for over a week. It's the largest music festival in the world (seriously). They also have a pretty decent carnival, even a small coaster sometimes. If you are ever in Milwaukee at the end of June, beginning of July check it out.

BGT is in Tampa proper, although not really "downtown". Unfortunately, it happens be in one of the "less desirable" neighborhoods, but it IS in the city...

Even though its not a major city by textbook standards, Downtown Greensburg (first semi major city directly to the east of Pittsburgh) has some nice, steep hills

A floorless weaving down by the river and bridges in Pittsburgh would be cool also
