This was my first time to Lake Compounce-ever. So we arrive at the park at 10:30, and then opened the gates so we could purchase our tickets. After wating about 10 minutes, at 10:45, they let us into the park. I wore my SROS (SFNE) shirt so the RRC people could find me later on, but luckily no park employees poked fun at SFNE or my shirt.
Only about 50 or so people were at the park so far (more arrived later in the day) and suprisngly, no one ran to Boulder Dash like I expected. Some little kids walked to the Garfield area. Once we wandered the park for about 5 minutes, which seemes to last forever, we found Boulder Dash's entrance and only a handfuk of people were already in the station. We got on the 2nd run of the day, cause the ride operator dispatched the train right before we walked into the station, unfortunately. Anyway, after riding Boulder Dash, I was AMAZED! It came within close proximity of beating my fav coaster, SROS SFNE. After riding Wildcat, which was suprisingly fun, we rode the Zoomerang, your typical Boomerang. They have some really cool flat rides. The Rotor, which was awesome. Enterprise, which wasnt as good as Nightwing at SFNE. The Ghost Hunt, a fun, interactive, dark ride in which you travel in a typical ghost train, but you shoot are ghosts and demons which laser guns. I thought that you got wet on Blizard River, and then I expierienced Thunder Rapids. I lucked out, but my friend looked as if he took a swim in the lake! The park was very clean, had great operations, excellent prices and value, and the employees were very helpful and kind. Total rides on Boulder Dash: Five. Not bad for one day. They do need some more flat rides, another looper. Perhaps have a ferry boat to the other end of the lake and expand on the other side of the lake, as well, with another coaster and rides, maybe a free fall? This park won't be one to miss!
