What is happening to Six Flags?

Ok I have to say something about the complaints about Six Flags. Way back, before Six
Flags got bought by Premier Parks, they were a much better company, and their parks
had high standards and great people there, this is when Time Warner owned them. The
people were friendly and helpful, and they still are that way, at least at some of the
original Six Flags parks(by this I mean the ones they had before Premier). Now they got
bought by Premier Parks, that company decided to take the Six Flags name for
themselves. And it seems that these parks that all of a sudden became Six Flags parks
are the ones that tend to ruin their rep. And it is all parks previously owned or bought by
Premier. I will admit, SFGAd, is not the cleanest, but the people where not bad. SFNE
was a very nice place, clean and well maintained. Some of the ops where a bit...lets say
not the best, but otherwise a pleasant place. I have not been to SFWoA yet, or any
other park that was not an original SF. But tell me, am I right? Is it the former Premier
Parks that are trashing the Six Flags rep?

Well SF needs to add coasters to it's smaller parkss (SFEG, SFKK, SFAW). SF is only adding rides to SFMM and SFWoA. They need to add rides to it's other parks so they can get out od debt, but I don't see how they even got in debt.

Again, those parks are not original Six Flags parks, they were slapped with that name when Premier changed their name after the buyout. It just seems all the complaints are about former Premier Parks. And yes a company buyout would kinda increase that debt.

actually SF also built SFoG and SFoMidAmerica (now SFStL)

As I explained in the original post, by original Six Flags I refer to the parks they owned before being bought by Time Warner. This includes SFGAm, SFGAd, SFMM, SFAW, SFoT, SFoG, and SFStL. Not sure when Fiesta Texas was bought.
I was just looking for an opinion, basically was Six Flags better before Premier bought them.
I know the story of Six Flags, hell I worked there and had to hear it a lot. Just seems they had a good rep before and now it is going down because of the Premier Parks.

I visited my first Six Flags Sunday. When to SFGAm in Gurnee Ill. Overall I had a great time there. Raging Bull and The American Eagle own that park. My biggest complaint is the lack of intellengence some of the ride ops had. I was one of the first people to reach V2 (go me!) but when I boarded the train. I was kicked off the ride because of my height! They couldn't buckle the seat belt. Upset I went over to Batman and had no problem riding it or any of the other rides with the belt buckle. I don't know who thought up the seats for Iron Wolf but all I can say is I hope I can still have children! (OUCH) I rode all but 3 coasters there within 5 hours (thank you Fast Pass) and I rode Raging Bull Twice. Look out Six Flags Texas here I come!

I think the middle management at the "problem" parks should be terminated so they can hire ME! I've got a degree and shall we say more than a passing interest.

SFGAm was not an original Six Flags park,I'm pretty sure it was a Marriott park.

I can't complain about what they added to Six Flags America! How about four major coasters in three years and several flat rides. Did Premier ruin "my" park? Without Premier's help, I don't think the former Wild World would still be around. Are the converts ruining the Six Flags rep? I think most of their parks have the same problems (rides down, inefficiency etc.), just some of them are more pronounced (SFWOA etc.).

I actually disagree. I've been going to SFGAdv. Forever and when it was owned by Time Warner it was in much worse shape. Their was garbage everywhere, a poor staff, guest running rampant, buildings falling apart and just totally out of control. Since Premier has purchased it, thier have been a lot of improvments. Landscaping has been added and maintained, new rides have been added to increase capacity, the staff is much more efficient, the guests are kept inline, it's much cleaner, and they are doing things to make the park overall a nicer place. For example this year they redid the boardwalk and made it look nice again, also in previous years they made the lakefront, the former dump of the park look nice again. I'm happy Premier purchased Six Flags because they are really making SFGAdv. a nice place and I find it ashame that many people dis this park, b/c its on its way to becoming on of the best parks in the world.

I agree with Intamin Fan 100%. If it were not for premier the old Wild World park never would have survived.I first went there in 89 and the park was nowhere near the size and scope that it is today.As far as management goes when Adventure World became SFA they still operated under the same management as they do today.I'm very fourtunate to have a SF park to go to.With out them we never would have gotten the 2 most recent coaster additions to the park,an intamin hyper and a vekoma flying dutchman.thanks SFA.

I ust wanted to hear what others think is the cause. I am personally not blaming premier, cause hey they brought X, V2, Batwing, and others in. I do not think I visited SFGAd when it was till Time Warner owned, really the only one I visited during that time was SFGAm. Just curious what people think. And yes I know GAm was first built by Marriotts along with GA in California, then they split, with GAm being bought by Ballys/Midway, then Six Flags, someone else owned it in there somewhere too, don't remember. It just seems to be that the upper management needs to take more care in training and hiring and just about everything.

Speaking for GAdv., I can only see better things happening since the Premier purchase. I may have went on a rant last week regarding annoyances like trash, paint, landscaping, etc, but there is no comparison between now and 10 years ago. I really can't comment on the smaller parks they recently acquired because I've never been to them but I think Premier has been excellent for Great Adventure. Hopefully, once they catch up on some of the more important details like adding rides, the other less important things will be taken care of. As for the ride ops, everybody has a bad day once in a while. I've run into very dry, quiet ops that are just barely doing their job and I've seen others that are great. This is the same no matter where you go.
