What to do with WOF?

I personally think they need to take out Orient Express and build a B&M of some kind in it's place. If WOF got a B&M then they would have a good one two punch with the terrific Mamba. Has anyone heard about a new coaster in 2002 or 2003?
Why take out Orient Express? WOF has tons of land to develop… look at the vast field Mamba sits in. One or two new big rides would turn the park into a contender. I wouldn’t be surprised to see a B&M inverted (i.e.: Talon) show up in the near future.
I would take out Orient Express because it just isn't a popular ride anymore.
Orient Express is historic (since it is one of the few with interlocking loops), but I agree, it isn't that much fun anywmore. A B&M would be a wonderful addition to the park.

They could still keep the Orient Express though, and build the new coaster elsewhere. But I do suggest that they build it on the opposite side of the park from Mamba. Sure, it would be inconvient to us coaster fanatics, but it would help revive what seems to be a dead area (it would also shorten the lines for Mamba and Timber Wolf).

Something else I thought would be cool is if they rebuilt Timber Wolf so that it's helix were within Mamba's helix. That would be very cool...but that is just more of a fun idea rather than a serious suggestion.

Current favorite coasters:
Wooden: 1) Beast 2) Raven 3) Son of Beast 4) The Boss 5) Timber Wolf
Steel: 1) Raging Bull 2) Millennium Force 3) V2 4) Wild Thing 5) Mr. Freeze
I agree Joe, they do need to do something will Timber Wolf because after riding it Saturday I found out that it is a lot like Mean Streak. It seemed to be running SUPER slow.
That's odd, because I rode Timber Wolf a few weeks back and it was blazing fast. Did you ride it at night ? I rode it several times, throughout the day, and it was never "slow", but it was def. faster at night.

By the way, there is a specific TW topic floating around, so if we continue on this note, let's move it there (however, all of this has probably been covered already).

I have never gone on Orient Express but I have seen pictures and 2 words: Paint-Job! It looks horrible! Either get a paint job or take it out and build a Stand-Up:)

what would be nice is if they a B&M Inverted or Stand-Up over by the timberwolf, and they build a Raven type woodie where the plunge used to be. That way we could keep OE and VV.

Hold on Tight, Because the Mamba is about to Stirke!
I think that WOF will be getting a B&M inverted for 2002, if they don't then I think valleyfair will get one. The reason is when valleyfair introduced Wild Thing, Dorney took Steel Force the year after, and one year after Steel Force came Mamba, all three coasters were hypers from Morgan, so I think we might see two B&M inverteds following Talon, but it's just a thought. Also, I wanted to say I would be very disapointed if WOF took out Orient Express because of it's originallity being one the only coasters with interlocking loops and the first to use the arrow boomerang element.
If they could make it less rough , the Orient would be great. I love the layout but I cant enjoy it while my head is banging of the OTSR's. They should just get rid of the OSTR's. The ride would probably become more popular. Then they would have 3 awesome coasters.
The reason they SHOULDN'T take out Orient Express is because of the fact that there is no need to tear down something that cost so much to build when you could build it where there is nothing and therefore no money to lose out of tearing it down or selling it.

It got a paint job a couple of years ago.

* Is there any possible way to make OE smoother? It would really save it. The layout is great. *** This post was edited by mamba on 8/13/2001. ***

Actually, the ride was painted before the beginning of the 2000 season, and it really looks good now. The red that used to stand out is back. The Orient is still one of the most majestic rides to watch, especially when it is lit up at night and you're standing outside the gates. The coaster also still packs a punch, and while there is some headbanging, I don't find it to be excessive. The first drop is still one of the most gut-wrenching to be found anywhere.

It would be insanely stupid for WOF to remove the OE. People still ride it, and WOF has a ton of room to expand.

What I would like to see is a coaster added to the wooded area in the back of Europa. That area is really dead, since it has no major attractions. A CCI wooden twister or a B&M inverted would fit perfectly back in that area and revitalize a dead section of the park. Personally, I'm hoping for a CCI, but I doubt I'll shed tears in they add a beemer invert. :)

By the way, with attendance down again this year at WOF, I would not expect to see a coaster added until 2003. This should be good news for VF patrons. *** This post was edited by The Rentch on 8/13/2001. ***
