Raging Bull -without- trims !!! :)

Well, yesterday (8/10/01) I got a special treat !

It was 9:15 pm, and my friends and I were deciding on what should be our last ride of the day. We had just gotten off a fantastic night ride of Viper. My friends wanted to ride Batman, since we had skipped it earlier in the day. That was fine by me, but they had never ridden Raging Bull at night, which I strongly suggested they do. We checked out the line, and decided we had time to do them both. 15 min. later we are in the legendary back seat, flying down the first drop, around the turnaround and up the hump...

NO TRIM BRAKES !!! Airtime galore ! it was so beautiful, I almost cried !!! :)

Of course, this wasn't supposed to happen, and we were stopped in the block brakes until they had maintainence reset the ride. :( The 2nd half kinda sucked (too slow), but boy did the lack of trims on the first half make up for it !
I'm still glowing from that ride. :)

More in my soon to be written trip report, although that really was the highlight of the day.

That is what kind of happened to me except the trims were on on the third hill but the mid-course brakes malfunctioned and were off and we flew over the camel back and pulled some excellent g's on the helix

There are only 4 brakes on Raging Bull that I know of - The station brakes, the mid course brakes, the "hump" and the Figure Eight (helix?). So I assume that your "third hill" is the same as my "hump", as the hump is technically the 3rd drop of the ride.

That is awesome - it sounds like you had a better ride than mine even (no mid course breaks AND no trims !).
You bastard ! ;)

By the way, has anyone noticed along the stairway to the station, there is a pipe running parallel to the station house. The words "speed coaster" are stenciled on the pipe in black paint. It may be a hyper, it may be a twister, but officially, it's a speed coaster :) Fine by me.

Hey! I was in line when you were stuck on the block brake...was wondering what had happened.

I was in line too. Earlier that day, my brother shifted in his seat while on Eagle, so they stopped the ride because they thought he was standing up...

I'd never been stuck on a lift hill before....

Hehe. We were right above the que line then, in the backseat. I shouted "Hi!" and waved at some people. So if you were there, that was me. :)
