I have been to Silverwood many times now, and although my family lives in Idaho, I wouldn't suggest staying close to Silverwood. I would stay in Northern Idaho and leave really early in the morning to the park. I would drive up to Priest Lake and stay there at any of their GORGEOUS campgrounds. It is clean, cheap, and always available this time of the year, or later. It will be about a 2 hour drive to the park, but I would suggest this to you....after you go to the park, you can drive south, and stay in Couer d'Alene. It isn't too far away, and there are plenty of hotels, and restaurants for you to eat at. You could also stay in Spokane afterwards, where there is even MORE to do. Good luck. If you need any additional info about suggested campgrounds, feel free to e-mail me. I
have one I totally recommend, but I can't recall the name right now, and I don't have access to a map.
