Have a horse show circuit planned in upstate NY. How can this coaster freak get away with hitting up some east coast parks during the show? Easy-go to the parks when Im not competing. Didnt think I could pull this off but over 2k miles driven my mission was accomplished! B/F, trainer, horses and my kids on way upstate, me, I head for Kennywood on way to NYC. Visited KW 2 years ago and loved it, was very excited about PR (even though I loved it with it's inverts) Went with sole purpose of only riding PR and leaving. I was in line when PR opened, I waited on the last car and let me just say one word-wow :) :)!! This coaster never ceased to amaze me before and now it's even better. Fast and smooth, airtime galore. I don't understand the 1 train operation but had NO time to think-had to take pics quickly, get my PR shirt, shot glass and leave. (oh yea-unplanned stop at the Potatoe Patch-had to have them fries! :)) Although my total time at KW was maybe 1 hour I must admit I adore this park, the landscaping is breath taking, I know from previous visit all their coasters are fun and now with PR it is even better. The prices (or lack there of) in comparison to other parks is incredible, $12.95 for my shirt, $2.95 for the shot glass. And their food prices are unreal too. This park is a MUST for anyone!
I can't be too disappointed, I planned on 1 ride on PR and got it. I also recieved several comments on my CP & Raptor tattoos from guests which of course I just loved! :) When exiting the park I noticed the line to get in was clear down to the bridge, giving new meaning to the saying "build a coaster, they will come"
Kudos to Kennywood for making an awesome (to me) coaster even more awesome!
Next stop? SFGA!
