A Tourist Question about SFMM...

I'm going to California on Tuesday and I'm planning a trip to Six Flags, my question is what kind of footwear should I wear? I have a pair of sandals that I wear all the time, but they're just slip on thongs. I know on a few of the coasters I'm scared of my sandals flying off and then not having any shoes for the rest of the day, I have another pair of sandals with straps around the back, or sneakers but then I have to wear socks and I didn't want to do that in the heat. Can I take off my shoes before the ride starts and keep them somewhere so they don't fly off? Or do you guys recommend wearing different footwear? I would like to come as prepared as possible since this is my first trip there and I've never been on any really big rollercoasters (although I am a huge fan of them) =) Maybe I could bring another pair of shoes in a backpack and wear those on some of the coasters? Also, do they allow you to bring in your own bottled water, or is it easy to sneak in in a backpack or bag? If not, can you buy water in the park and is the water from the tap in the washroom or fountain cold?? Thanks for all your help and making a first timer's trip worthwhile!
I pretty sure on most rides you can take off your shoes or sandals. But I'd wear sneakers or tennis shoes just to be safe.

On Batman you have to sit on your shoes.
I would were tennis shoes because you have to do tons of walking.

SFMM went from Amusment Park to Xtreme Park. They skipped Theme park :)
Where tennis shoes because the park is pretty big, and hilly, so wear confortable shoes and a lot of standing.

Shoes: I always wear my well-broken-in tennis shoes. Wearing sandals is asking for trouble.

Water: You can bring in water, I suggest freezing it the night before and letting it slowly melt. Some fountains are colder than others, I cannot remember all of them. Price of a 1 liter bottle of water at the Mountain... $4.25!!! (last time I was there, I bought one and it was not even cold)

Have fun!

"X" marks the spot in 2001!
Wear sneakers because that park has tons of walking and getting up to superman is a huge hill. but wearing sandals is okay. your feet just might hurt.

Prepare for a work out! I did three days straight at the park, and between hiking up the hill to get to the park and the workout you get inside the park, I lost 5 pounds.

I'd like a tall CCI out and back, and a grande nonfat Latte to go please!
Wear tennis shoes and bring sandals in your back pack if you decide you would rather wear them. I just drank from the drinking fountains all day and I thought they were pretty cold and easy to find.
