Hyper Coasters B&M

How does Raging Bull compare to Apollo's Chariot,and The Georgia Scorcher?
I have been on AC,but RB looks really interesting.I am wondering about the new coaster rumored,and said to be confirmed on Screamscape,to be built at SFGreat Adventure.They say it will be similar to AC.Will the new coaster be a so-so,it'll get by?

Raging Bull is phenomenal. It is incredibly smooth and there is airtime galore, especially in the back. It features the same trains and seats that are on AC. The main difference is that AC is an out and back, and RB is a "hyper-twister." If Great Adventure does get one of these, it should be a heck of a ride.

The Georgia Scorcher is a stand-up.

They both look pretty cool.I just wish they would hurry up and build one of those bad boys down here in Florida.

Being the airtime whore that I am, I liked Apollo far better than Bull. It just felt like Bull was being held back or something. The problem is that the peaks of most hills are turns, so the airtime is a lot more subtle in all but three of the peaks. I'm not saying that Bull is a bad coaster (not even close), only why I prefer Apollo.

Apollo is a classic out and back, using the terrain to its benefit. The sharp peaks really hurl you over the top (Bull also has this in a few places). According to the park, Apollo has more drop feet than any other coaster. I dig that!

I'm afraid the new coaster is going to be the coaster that "could have been".Sorry I was mistaken about the Scorcher.
I know I am jumping the gun here,they haven't even made any indication there will be an announcement.
It's also still Aug. and I have a lot more ride time in 2000.I hate to admit I have been to my home park only once,in April,but it was threatning to rain that day so the park was EMPTY:)!The weather in NJ has been wet and/or hot,so I have stayed away.I ride mostly in the fall anyway.Last Mischief night(Sat.)it rained leaves from the trees all day and at dusk this great fog rolled in off of the lake.It was too perfect.While in line for Medusa,you could not see the train go up the lift hill.And when the train came back to the station,everyone was wiping the moisture off of there hands(especially if you did not hold on ).It was truly eerie.
I went on vacation this year to Ohio,we did SFO,CP,and KW.I am laughing at my mom tonight because she just told me if we had money left over from our trip in June,she would have gone to BGW for a small trip in the end of Aug..I was surprisd.It probably would not have been too crowded,mabye.We went last year,and I guess she figures if I am going to drag her to a park,she is going to make the most of it.

apollo is a nice ride, rode it 10x's one day. a few things to improve it is to make that tent thing more of a dark tunnel. the brakes at the top of some of the hills i didnt like, making the turnaround SLOW. still a great ride, great drop, and great air on my #3 coaster.

The first drop on Apollo is neat because of the water retention pond(I believe there is a rectangle on either side of the track).You fell as if you are diving into the water.Too bad they could not put MF over the water.

The lone trim on Apollo is in the same place (drop wise) as on Bull, heading up the third hill. Apollo's was unused when I rode it, but Bull's felt nasty from the back seat. On the other hand, it helped launch you on Bull from the front seat.

I havn't ridden Apollo's Chariot, but if it is anything like Raging Bull then it's a treat. Raging Bull is my favorite coaster. The drop is great. The amount of airtime generated from the first drop is unreal.

I just rode AC over the weekend and enjoyed it very much. On my first ride I wasn't at all impressed, the coaster really grew on me later in the evening with my last ride being the best. Funny, but that was my same response to RB. I found both of them fun with great airtime, but too controlled, lacking a defining moment. I got the feeling that the parks wanted these coasters to be more "family"-like which is fine. I really want to see one built at a park with more daring park with more extreme elements.

I rode Apollo's Chariot, and the only times it blew me away with airtime was with a full train. When I was the first train of the day, the ride wasn't quite as good because it was practically an empty train!!!!!
