Deja Vu cable didn't snap

From the recent pictures on Twistedrails.com, people had made an assumption that the cable on SFMM's Deja Vu's second tower snapped. This is not true. The webmaster who was responsible for photographing it explains below...

"As I said elsewhere, the cable did not break. Workers were removing the cable spool (if that's what it's called) along with the motor for the second tower. The cables were hanging freely below, detatched from the spool.

When I went to Six Flags Great America there Deja Vu wasnt open also. I asked guests services and they said Deja Vu may not open at all this year. That makes a park look bad in my opion why build a coaster if it not even going to open up? I know there is a lot of testing required before it opens.

Now I can go on living and not caring about Delayja Vu anymore... There have been some rumors about them not working at all and SF might take them down, but I don't see them giving up that easily.

I dont think it'll be open any time soon. X may even open before it.

It does not appear that Six Flags is in a rush to open these things by the end of the year. Given that the SFGam model has not changed one iota in the past month and a half (no train, no motor), you have to wonder if they've given up on the ride. But I hope they don't tear it down. What a shame -- if nothing else, it looks cool and adds to the skyline.

For Viper, that is really old. If you go by Deja Vu it says, Openning 2002, so ,its old now. But they are trying for Fright Fest.

Wouldn't you all rather have it open and work correctly. Personally I love to live. Rather have it be over tested and working than break and kill any of us.

It sounds to me like there are a lot of mongos posting here. There is probably a design flaw and the parks are waiting for Vekoma to come up with a fix to the problem without having to dismantle the rides. I'd be willing to bet these rides will be operational, but these things happen. Theres not much parks can do until the manufacturer knows whats up. Personaly, I dont think the ride is going to be all that great anyway.

Remember people, it is not the park, it is the coaster company (in this case Vekoma) responsible for the problems with the new coaster. In no way is Six Flags responsible for any delays with the Deja Vu's.
