Yellow Australian coaster?

I was watching TV last night and saw an ad for a show. Two of the main characters were riding in a yellow rollercoaster. Looked like an Arrow multi-inversion, but maybe a Vekoma. The Sydney Opera house was pictured in the background. What coaster is this?

It could be Luna Park's Big Dipper.

That's correct. It is an Arrow Junior Hypercoaster/Multi-Inversion hybrid. Has two inversions, a Sidewinder & Vertical Loop hidden behind Coney Island just before the final brakes.

It is currently being dismantled & shipped to it's new home, Dreamworld, a 12 hour drive up north located on the Gold Coast.

I'm very sad to see it go, at least it's only a hour's flight away & in the same country. The sodding residents nearby whined about the noise & took it to court which sealed it's fate.

Is there such a thing as a stealth coaster, no, not that one, I mean a totally silent coaster? Word is Kraken is pretty quiet. Even if it were silent, there is the problem of riders, especially women screaming their heads off. Enclose the cars? Install white noise speakers? Feedback/sound cancelling speakers? Gag the riders? The one time I was at the park, there was a girl up front, let's just say she had to be stapled in, she bloody screamed louder than the coaster itself & the whole park put together. I wanted to toss her in the Harbour!

What's even more ridiculous was in a futile attempt to reduce the noise, the park only ran one six car train. It was supposed to have two seven car trains. Of course, this only lead to longer & frustrating waits in line.

You're talking about Farscape, right? I saw that preview Friday. It looked like the sign said Fantasy Island, and that made me think the ride was that Millenium Coaster from Vekoma, which I don't understand, it's on rcdb.com. I tried to think what park they were at, because it's fiction, they can bend things, and since production of that show is mainly in Australia, but they use lots of digital shots and trickery, so I thought they filmed in one place then used digital effects. I may be wrong, but the sign did say Martin's Fantasy Island(is that in Australia?). Anyways, it's one of the best science fiction series ever, and if you want to see the ride it'll be on 9PM EasternDST on Friday night on SciFi. It repeats at midnight.

Just to say that the Dipper is about halfway through being dismantled now. Dreamworld said they will have it up and running by Xmas. Assuming that they have the land cleared & the footers poured & set already, this is feasible. I think it will be built exactly how it was as the cost doesn't seem to factor in any layout modifications i.e. more inversions & track etc. ($2.5million, originally $3.5million)

Any comments on what I said above about noisy coasters?

I know there's a coaster in a Mary Kate and Ashley movie, "Our lips are sealed". Could that have been what the ad was for, because that's what happens in it?

Actually, the sign says "Coney Island". I still can't figure out what coaster this is. It climbs the lift hill, turns to the left, drops, has a few inversions and a tunnel or two (I think).

Yes, I'm talking about FarScape -- best SciFi show currently on TV, imo.

Haven't you read the replies to your question? It IS the Big Dipper for cryin' out loud, I've been on it heaps & can say the same for photos. Read my first post, it even mentions Coney Island.

Yup, Farscape is the best SciFi show not currently on TV along with Stargate SG-1 (They only screen them in the ratings off-season which is in a month or so. Grrrrrr.)

What? Silent coaters? I didn't think this was about that. When I first saw it, I was hoping it was that Millennium Coaster, I saw yellow, because I want to see it for some reason, it does not look like anything from pictures, IMO. You were saying the ride was already on it's way out, the show is new, upon seeing it, yes it was that ride, but the footage was obviously chopped, know what I mean? The backgrounds and such were obviously enhanced digitally, as all there episodes are, for outdoor shots, et cetra. It was like it was there, they got enough footage, they put some stuff together, it was cool. I've never seen a train like that, LOL, Chriton's head was getting slammed! I've never received the whipping head motion like that on a ride, lucky me, just funny as to how it doesn't matter in a fictional production wether or not dudes' heads get beaten by a ride:).
Anyways, I like it when I see a coaster on my favorite shows, even better it be on Farscape, BTW we get new episodes before Australia? Every after Chritmas time, and summer:), off season TV here, too.
