SOB or MF or SD2000???

Well. Ive been thinking and looking at these posts. Ive noticed that alot of you have said you like MF SOOOOOO much. I can see it may have a good drop but there really is not all that to it. Its just a series of turns and large hills. Theres no spunk to it. Its just tall. SOB i think looks better because it is not only tall, but has 3 helixes a loops, and airtime! It also starts off with a bang. Now, for SD2000. I think this coaster looks like MF would be. It is just tall and long. The helixes on it might be cool. I would think SD2000 would probably be better than MF. Other than a steep drop. It looks like SD2000 has more to offer. This is just my opinion. Ide like to see yours.

Actually the MF has more than the first drop. The overbanked turns on it are amazing your practicaly laying on your side. In my opinion I like the MF better then the other two.

Unless any of us have been on all three there is no way to compare them. I highly doubdt anybody that posts on here has been on SD unless they live in Japan. I haven't been on SOB but I don't think you can really compare steel coasters to wood coasters. Its like apples to oranges. I can see comparing SD and MF if you have been on both as they are both steel and are both Giga coasters. I think the coaster to compare SOB to would be The Beast, Mean Streak, Texas Giant and the Rattler. Basically all of the big wood coasters. Just my opinion.

airtime on sob? did i miss something? the way you are talking you havent ridden any of them. sob has the most terrible layout ever. on your opinions for millennium force, i beg to differ. floater hills? tunnels? over banks? i can go on and on forever. i dont think too many people on these boards have been on sd2k, considering it just opened and is on the other side of the world. so out of the 2 i have been on, mf is so much better. i would rather be on iron dragon than sob.

DLDude, have you ridden all three to make the comparison?

No coaster should ever be under-rated. Regardless of location or even if you have not got to ride it. Each coaster is unique. It has its own thrills that will NEVER be duplicated on any other ride. It's like a fingerprint. No two are exactly alike. They may be twins but never the same.

1 member has SD in their track record so I say to the person who claims they have ridden it to explain it in detail. Somehow I dont think this person will respond because they havent been on it.

Comparing rides that you haven't been on is pointless. You can't make a case for any of them if you haven't been on them. Someone who says "that's all there is to it" about The Force hasn't been on it, period. Right now a majority of the members have felt The Force, none of them have been on Steel Dragon and only some have been on SOB (but not for a lack of trying). Naturally people are going to take a strong liking to the one that they've been on.

I loved MF and I'm sure I'l love SD2K if I ever get to Japan. I find it incredible that people who haven't BEEN ON a coaster can critique it. THat's just ludicrous. Sometimes I wish the "enthusiasts" here would show more enthusiam for coasters instead of constantly trying to slam each other with comparisons. This summer I've enjoyed SO many new thrills, as well as revisited old favorites. If I approached each one with the attitude some post-ers seem to take, I wouldn't have any fun at all. And FUN is the real reason I, and everyone else here I hope, rides!

How ridiculous. You can say what coaster LOOKS better to you, but until a person has been on ALL three that person can't say which is better.

It's as pointless as trying to say MF can go 100 or 122mph. (anyone believing this has an IQ of about 5)

Also, comparing a woody to two steel coasters is like comparing apples to oranges.

I've only been on one (Millenium Force) so I cant compare, but all I know is MF was so incredible. I drove all the way from Minnesota to ride it, then waited 3 hours to ride it, and it was BY FAR worth it! All I can say was from start to finish, Millenium Force doesnt let up, and it was WAYYY better than any other ride I've ever been on.
NOT overrated. I reapeat NOT overrated.
To me, its underrated.

People shouldnt judge rides or complain about them. No ride is really bad, maybe some, but I'm just saying if you dont like a ride, just dont ride. But please dont complain about it. Every one insults all the big rides. Cant we all get along and love all coasters???

MF is much better than son of beast i have been on son of beast 6 or 7 times and it is ok MF i went on 4 times in 2 days i give MF all 5's SD2000looks good but only a 68 degree drop i much rather go with 80 degrees and the air time looks like too much i mean 7 air time hills in a row could be boring but the helixes look like fun. i would think MF is better but i will nevr find out

I agree Adam. If SOB isn't your cup of tea, don't ride it again. No one's forcing you to. Same with MF. It gets very boring listening to someone bash something over and over and over. Let's hear more about what you DO like.

There are two things I don't like on SD2000. They are the mid course brakes(I want to know if the train will be trimmed). Also the lift hill it must take a long time to get to the top(that is another thing I want to find out). But SD2000 layout looks OK.I am not bashing the ride but if the train is trimed it won't be running as good as it could be(speed, air).

Actually, I like a slower lift on a hyper like Magnum or SF as compared to faster lifts like S:ROS or AC. It really gives you time to appreciate just how high you are.
