SFMM Flashback

So reading trip reports, I got the impression that Flashback at SFMM is rarely open, and Hurricane Harbor's operation is somehow a factor. Can anyone give me the low down?

Essentially when Hurricane Harbor is closed Flashback is open and vice versa. As of recently the only time one can ride Flashback is in the fall and winter. Personally I dont understand. I live in Las Vegas and Speed: The Ride is right next to Wet n' Wild. Speed is just as loud as Flasback yet Wet n' Wild still operates at the same time as the ride.

Colossus gets pretty close to Hurricane Harbor, and that thing is just as loud. I have no idea why they close Flashback, I love it! It's probably just a way for them to save money, because they know nobody goes on it anyway. The use HH as the excuse, and don't run the ride to save money.

Flashback rarely gets visitors because of its incredibly stupid location where guests don't even know it exists because of where it is at. The queueing entrance is BEHIND an arcade and low profile midway where nobody really walks through. And plus, the ride isn't so loud and tall that people's attention are centered to it.

But the big kahuna reason of the reason it hardly runs is because of Hurricane Harbor. It is RIGHT NEXT to the park unlike Colossus which is hardly even considered close to it. Flashback and Hurricane Harbor are seperated by a fence, that shows you how close it is. The ride is an Intamin AG ride and it produces sounds that resemble those coming from Kumba and The Riddler's Revenge. Yes, it gets LOUD. So life guards will have a harder time hearing if anybody is drowning and calling for help, not to mention the distraction the loud noises cause.

Screams comming from Flashback could also confuse the lifeguards.

I suppouse moving it would be more trouble than its worth. But it seems useless to have a coaster (even Flashback) and never operate it. Maybe it might be useful to just move it somewhere else. Don't ask me where. :)

I can never understand why Flashback and Log Jammer are considered part of the entry plaza. Its in the map that way. :)

Flashback is a very loud coaster that is only a few feet from the closest waterslide. Flashback is closed because it is soo loud (and people screaming in pain [joking]) that the lifeguards cannot hear people who might be drowning.
Flashback used to open every night around 6 after HH closed, but the lines for that ride were soooo little it was not profitable.

Yah my friend told me about this. I think they might move it around by RR or FreeFall. Rather i say just blow it up and make a new one! (or at least replace the trains)
