Coney Island Carousel

I read something from Saturday's Pittsburgh Post Gazette about a Coney Island Carousel Caretaker dying. They mention a carousel somewhere north of Surf Ave. where you can catch a ring like Knoebel's. I was wondering if anyone else knows anything about this carousel and can tell me exactly where in Brooklyn this is. Thanks

I know there is a ring catch at Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk.

I found an issue of Inside Track dated November of 1991 with every known brass ring carousel. Granted this info. is almost 10 years old but hopefully this will help you out Carl

That Riverside Park carousel in Logansport, Indiana is apparently better known as the "Cass County Carousel." It's an all-standing machine, and yes, the ring machine is still working.

On the machine in Spokane, Washington, the rings are plastic, which makes for some interesting ring actions...tactics that work with steel rings just deform the plastic ones and cause them to pop out on the floor.

Dollywood, when last I heard, has removed its carousel, as that machine was not owned by the park and the owner decided he wanted it back.
