With never being to Wynadot before and having a six flags pass this year, now was the perfect time to take the 3 hr. drive to the west. I was never there before premier then six flags bought it. I'm wondering what they added to it in the last few years.
Finding the park was an adventure in itself. Good thing we knew the Columbus Zoo was right next to it. There was no sign for Wynadot until I saw a waterslide right down the road. We walked right in to the main gift store. I got a postcard, and a blue pennant from the main store at the end of the day. First thing hopped on the Sea Dragon. Nothing much, a little 35 foot coaster, that wasn't too bad. The train before ours had 2 kids toward the back who couldn't get their lapbar up. So the lone employee on the station told them to "try and get out of the seat" since they were small enough they manuervered their way out. Oh Well it was still a good ride.
After checking out the little arcade, I was getting hot and decided to change and go to the water park. The Lazy River was pretty cool, but it wasn't wide enough and when 3 or 4 tubes were lined up you couldn't swim through. That's right swim through. We got there at about 3 and all the tubes were sold out. The only waterparks i've been to were Sandcastle here in Pittsburgh, Splashin' Safari, and Blizzard Beach. I don't recall paying for tubes there at all. Any waterpark fans can tell me if you usually pay for them.
I spent the whole time in the wave pool and the river. The park was closing and the line for the big speed slide was short. I never rode on one of those before and it was cool. An amazing feeling dropping straight down like that. I must say I wasn't expecting much from Wynadot Lake and really didn't get too much. If only Six Flags could put some money in this place(and some better signs on the roads) it could really be a good water/theme park.
