stratosphere getting new attractoin

Although the tower is already home to two thrill rides -- the Big Shot, which shoots riders 160 feet up the tower's needle, and the High Roller, a roller coaster -- a third ride is in the works. This one will propel thrill-seekers 740 feet down the tower, across the Strip and back to the Strat at 125 mph.

sounds like it is either going to be S&S or somekind of lim ride.

I'll go there to ride it, but it's gonna be a low capacity ride and the lines will probably be huge. Even if it's a continuous circuit, it still doesn't seem like it should'n get the world record, because it's really not a roller coaster, but rather a drop ride, or a shuttle like Superman. The debate about this is gonna be huge once it opens. They'll have to make a category for tallest Traditional Roller Coaster, meaning it has hills, and a train, versus a car and 1 big hill like Hypersonic. When I hear the descripton of this new ride, I think of a Freefall type thing, like the one at CP.

Ok, here is another dumb question... Isn't 120mph the limit to speed without protection? Doesn't it reach the velocity limit for a human without protection? I've heard this many places. So does this mean that it will also have a way of protection?

that cant be true because people ride motorcycles faster than that. i know people that have broke that speed on a bike.

I find a 740-foot tall closed-circuit coaster to be well off in the future. Call me a naysayer (nay!), but I just don't see it happening.

What really interests me is the builder. So far, Morgan and Intamin have been willing to go 310' and above, but 740' is well more than double that. Of course, since part of the structure is already there (I suppose they'll be using the actual tower), the dynamics are completely changed.

I think it's going to be more like an Intamin free-fall. Think really, really big Demon Drop.

It's going to be built by Arrow, modeled after their fishook design. It's already been discussed.

yes what do you think race car drivers do they go what about 150mph probably more im not sure but its faster than that. and you cant say they are trained to go those speeds because their first time out going that speed they are still fine.

I read awhile ago wen they first announced it that it will be a ride like the demon drop at DP or an ride like that.
