I think that the rumours are a important part of coaster-surfing on the www.
its part of the fun! I think the loss of THRILLRIDE and the banning of rumours on other sites will influence the coaster talk on the net.
How boring will it be, if we have to wait for official announcements once a year?!
I can understand that companies and showmen hate the rumours, but thhey should accept it as a part of the business. They accept the internet as a means of advertisment, so they should accept the "negative" aspects created by enthusiasts as well.
For example: The german owner of the Giovanola transportable inverter EUROSTAR is extremely annoyed that rumours about the selling of the ride spread like hell a few months ago. The rumours were so spread out, that some of his colleages wondered that he was still travelling with the coaster. So now he is cursing the fans and the internet, BUT at the same time somebody finds an ad in an industry magazine, where EUROSTAR is up for sale. This ad was from the owner himself. So whats all the fuzz about?! Times change and the information media is used by lots of people. In fact the same people who fork up 5$ to ride Eurostar!
So keep the Rumours. They are part of the whole thing. Intelligent people will somehow manage to tell the possible things from the impossible, and will have fun anyway!
