I just found out what is coming to Cedar Point in 2002. The Point is building an Intamin wooden standup suspended inverted coaster. For the first half of the ride, the cars will not swing, but after the mid course brake, the cars will unlock and start to swing freely. This new coaster will be 250' tall and be over a mile in lenght. Five inversions are featured on the ride-two verticle loops, a single corkscrew and two heatline spins. I know all of this as fact because the mother of a cousin of a friend whose sister works at Wal-Mart and who has a friend whose dad is the half-brother of Cecil Cesspool of Septic Tank, Ohio told me all about this. Seriously now, all I know is that whatever Cedar Point is doing for next year will be a worthy addition to the park and will be of outstanding quality as usual. That my friends, is a fact. All of the fuss over the blueprints may be much ado about nothing, although I did see blueprints for a wood coaster when I was there earlier this year. This coaster looked like an l-shaped out and back with twister crossovers. It was hard to describe. It may be of another wood coaster in the Cedar Fair family and may have nothing at all to do with Cedar Point. Maybe the blueprints in the special are of an existing ride, I can't see Cedar Point letting that be on television before they announce it.
