This is how the system works-It's also the main source of problems that the GIBs are experiencing. There are two lift sleds, one for each tower. There is a cable connected to these sleds, hence the giant flywheels at the tops of the towers. The train connects with each lift sled to climb the tower. To begin the ride, the sled hooks to the train and pulls it up backwards via the cable. At the top, the train is dropped, and the train plummets. At the base of the exit from the vertical loop, the train connects with the second lift sled. After connecting, the sled attached to a second cable raises the train up the second spike. At the top, it is released, after one more pass thru the station, the train connects with the first lift sled to be lowered back down.
Hope this helps!
