Supreme Scream Malfunction

When I was riding supreme scream (the green tower)when we got to the top instead of droppig immediatly, the platform jerked, then slowly went down,came back up, and finally dropped. I've had no other experiance like this on the blue or yellow tower. Can someone please tell me why this is happening? *** This post was edited by Mr. X on 7/11/2001. ***

It may be like that to provide a unique ride, sounds scary, IMO, I hate freefalls and that would probally heighten my fear..........

no it's never done this before.

If there is a problem (like a power outage) the air leaks out of the main tank and the car slowly decends the tower. If you are interested, the process is detailed on the S&S Power website. I'm sure you will be able to find out what you want to know there.

Perhaps there was a brief power flicker. What you experienced was perhaps similar to when a coaster get's stopped on the lift, and then when the computer is reset it restarts. (Just a guess)

I saw the same thing happen at my last visit a few weeks ago. It was also the green tower. They then ran one empty load test after it "leaked down". It was all fine after that and they re-opened it. I think they "abuse" the green tower too much. Haha. They happen to run that one more than the other two because it's closer to the queue line I suppose. When they run only one tower when the attendance is low, they always run the green tower.

I think they need to alternate the platforms. Why don't they do that?
