the poors are having a fit with the Six Flags announcement on using a third party for their Payment plan offering for season passes (add-on plans). Essentially there is now interest involved (and credit reporting) that perhaps wasn't involved previously. I mention it here as it's the first of two (three?) announcements this week, with one expected to be thrill ride related (SFMM Thrill Glider and possibly AF1). And in typical SF style, they hyped this announcement as if it were a good thing. I'll post this in the dining plan thread, but my oh my are the kings island people pissed.

From a shareholder perspective, SF is doing some things to improve margin, and de-risk (offloading payment plans to a third party). We'll see what it actually does to their performance for 2027

Six Flags Announces Flex Pay (Sept 7, 2026)

Interesting. I just renewed my CP passes last week, and the monthly payment plan was at 0%. Maybe I got in under the wire?

Five years ago, giving someone 0% loans was not unreasonable. In the current interest rate market, it is actual money.

Gunkey Monkey posted a new thread on the payment plans.
