The whales, named Bertie Bott and Frankie, traveled more than 1,500 miles from Niagara Falls, Ontario, to SeaWorld San Antonio. The same trip also brought an additional four belugas to the Shedd Aquarium in Chicago. The move was a culmination of nearly two years of international coordination, bringing six of an expected 28 whales to aquariums across the United States.

What I read about how all the animals were treated at Marineland makes me sick to my stomach. They were considering killing the whales after they closed because they couldn't afford to take care of them. Not only that, there were times in the park's history where that didn't know how to take care of them, leading to some sick and dying animals. I'm so happy that these cherished creatures are finding a home where someone knows how to take care of them.
