Six Flags Great Adventure announces 382-foot tall Bakunawa spinning roller coaster

From deep beneath the darkened sea, an ancient serpent rises. Ascend the spire and split the sky on Bakunawa — the fastest and tallest spinning launch coaster in the world.
Inspired by Bakunawa, a legendary creature of folklore, this coaster reimagines the serpent’s coiling ascent as it attempts to devour the moon. Feel the pull of the eclipse as you launch through the world’s fastest inversion, reaching speeds up to 100 miles per hour. After spiraling 382 feet into the air, you plummet back to earth, spinning to the shore as Bakunawa returns to the sea.

Honestly, I thought the same thing when I looked at it. "Meh. Is that it?"
This doesn't look like something that would interest me, but then I thought about it more, and it truly is unique. When's the last time you could say that about a new coaster? Spinning seats, damn near 400', upside down launch... that's crazy.
It may not personally excite me, but it's great to see someone doing something new. I think it was Jeff who mentioned in another thread that the reason that he doesn't travel for coasters any more is that so many are just the same thing in a different order. This is some innovation, and I like to see that.

Yeah, this is admittedly very different. I'm not entirely sure if it's something I would travel for though. My assumption is that the inverted hump still results in some floater feels, and if that's the case, that's great. But the spinning, I'm not sure how to feel about that.

Not something I can ride at this stage of life, but I'm sure others will find it fun. I'd love to watch it, however.
Is this a one train operation or will there be two trains and a station transfer? If it is only one train, I expect that is going to be a whopper of a line.

The idea that I’m going to be hanging over the edge that high off the ground makes me uneasy.

Having been on both Time Traveler and Ride To Happiness, I am super excited to give this a spin (pun intended). I found the current two Mack Extreme spinners to be very different feeling rides, and this thing will be even more unique.
Kudos to the SFGAdv and Mack teams for thinking waaayyyy outside the box.

Seeing this being built in-person a few weeks ago was interesting, but what a cool concept; an "inverted launch"? In a world where it always seems like every barrier has been broken and there is little uniqueness, this looks like such an awesome exception.
We're already planning a return trip after a great experience at SFGA this past June.

The good: ChatGTP just told me that it will have two trains and a sliding duel station, so that's a good thing.
The Bad: It doesn't do what a spinning coaster is supposed to do to make the spinning necessary.
The ugly: That name is unmemorable and boring. It's marketing101 stuff.
...
And the really bad: The park didn't release the theoretical capacity for the ride, but ChatGTP tells me that "If a train can only be dispatched after the full 137-second ride cycle clears: ...525 riders per hour." That's insane, especially for a park as busy as Great Adventure. but it will sell more Fast Lane passes, so good for them.
