For those anxious for Deja Vu to open.....

I, like many, am tired of countless threads wondering when Deja Vu will open. I apologize if this thread goes in the wrong direction and ends up like other Deja Vu threads, but I stumbled onto some related info that I thought might interest some following the Deja Vu saga:

I recently heard from someone (and later confirmed) that the first Vekoma Invertigo, HangOver, built in 1996, suffered from testing problems that delayed its opening over 1 year. The new system for pulling the car up the lifts wouldn't work, was removed, and then they worked out and installed the system that is used today on Two Face, Face/Off, Invertigo, etc.

I found this interesting due to the delayed openings of the Deja Vus. They, like Hang Over are prototypes, and perhaps are having similar problems. I don't know. But, perhaps history is repeating itself.

I hope for a safe opening soon for the new Vekoma products, but we will just have to wait and see.

I certainly hope we don't have to wait a whole year for the GIB quadruplets to open...

I was thinking the same thing. I thought it would have a year late opening like stealth. But Lets hope they open///

About that Stealth comment: If my memory serves me correctly, Stealth was intentionally built a year early so they would have LOTS of time to test and figure it out. (They even shipped the trains back during that year. I've seen footage of a Vekoma guy riding it with hard shoulder restraints. Musn't have been too comfortable. You know, even a whole year of testing and work didn't get rid of Stealth's bugs, nor make the 2nd generation trouble free.)
Building a year early instead of erecting a prototype then shipping it to a park sounds like a good idea to me, and could possibly save $$$.

How is Deja Vu a prototype except for the fact that irs taller and has vertical towers?

It's not all prototype, you are right, but the complicated parts of the ride are new systems. Most prototype-ish (is that a word? :) ) is the system for getting the train up both towers. (I don't know exactly how it works, but it is my understanding that it is a source of problems at this time. Didn't the Vekoma guys at the X-Flight shoot confirm this, saying they didn't know how they were going to get it to work?)
