Busch Gardens Tampa closing Kumba, will replace with Kumba's Revenge

Busch Gardens Tampa announced that it is retiring the Kumba, its famed roller coaster that has been a destination for thrill seekers for the past 33 years. The coaster will take its final ride Aug. 2 but will pave the way for a new ride, Kumba’s Revenge.

The issue isn’t the trains, which as far as I know did get an off peak season tear down at BGT as they never ran all three trains in the offseason. I could be wrong but I believe it equates to the annual winter cycle at CP just spread ratably through the year. Again, I could be wrong.

Wasn't it a bunch of work on the footers? Seems strange they would have done all that work if they were planning to close it in a year due to the track being at the end of its service life. But then again it seems strange that they'd still be giving last rides on it if some other issue had popped up that necessitated a major repair to keep it safe.
