Disney is reportedly developing a second theme park adjacent to Shanghai Disneyland, which just celebrated its 10th anniversary. While not officially announced at the event, industry insiders confirm a "second gate" is planned, with the resort already expanding its hotels and adding a Spider-Man land.

I'm ready for a second gate at Knoebels!

Hi

A 5th Orlando gate is a long way off. The strategy has clearly been to expand the (functional if not always actual) capacity of the existing four--and they are hard at work doing that at three of them, with Dinoland -> Tropical Americas, TSI -> Piston Peak/Villains, and Muppets -> Monsters.

The CFTOD (the successor to Reedy Creek Improvement District) Growth Plan sets a threshold of no new 5th gate before 2035. So, mark your calendars for April 1, 2035.

Disneyland can't get a third gate until Eastern parking garages and the Harbor Gateway are built (oh, construction on that starts in July 2026), so estimate similar timeline, April 2035. They'll expand into the Disneyland Forward areas (the spaces in and around Downtown Disney) until then, along with Avatar or whatever they drop in where the buses are now. Avatar can't really go too vertical until the East Side garages are built (which will house bus and rideshare and Skyliner West station). Third park can't start until they no longer need the parking that currently resides on the Toy Story Lot (neé Fujishige Strawberry Farm).

Abu Dhabi is in deep design now along with Shanghai 2nd gate.

The end result is those three gates (as well as the remaining pad at the Euro 2nd gate) are going to share a lot of the same stuff. Much of it appearing to land at about the same time.

I won't bring up the Thailand Eastern Economic Corridor project that is screaming for a major resort investment, but keep your eyes on that as well.
