Future Wooden Loopers?

Do you think we will ever see another wooden looper being built anytime soon? And what do you think the MAX height for a woodie is.

This Space For Rent
The max height will be the hight before the wood will break under the weight of the train moving down the first hill.

i'm suprised y parks havn't jumped on the looping woodie

Best Steel: MF @ Cedar Point
Best Woodie: The Beast @ PKI
Best Park: IOA!
Get to the Point, Cedar Point!
I'm sure many may feel the opposite, but I look forward to more looping woodies, as long as they are done by companies with a good track record (no pun intended).
PGA was supposed to get a mini version of Son of Beast. At coasterpalooza they hinted twords wood for 2002..maybe we will se another wooden loop yet...
I think that the whole looping woodie was just a gimmick. I mean how many other parks can say they have a looping woodie. I personally don't feel it will become a popular element on woodies. Just my opinion.

I highly think you won't see any more wooden loopers. What's the point on having a loop on a wooden it's just a same as a corkscrew?

What?! I think the design could work... As long as RCCA stays out of it. ;)

No more wooden Loopers! I hate the restrictive lap bars on Son of Beast and it makes for one terrible coaster experienve. Wooodies are about airtime and laterals, not inversions.

I do believe this topic has been brought up before. Try using the search function before starting a new topic.

www.geocities.com/coastersrz I`ve riden Son of Beast 39 times!
Well, i think that most parks arent willing to take the risk that PKI did. Cause if any of you followed Son of Beast, like so much bad stuff happened. I beleive the computer system got struck by lightning once even. Really I think that if there will be Wooden loopers only SFMM or CP would be bold enough to try it. and on Max height. I really think that no park would go above 250 on a woodie.. that would just be so much wood. and really in all respect. all that wood, then wood to replace pieces. really adds up in which they could be used for better things. But I would love a tall woodie
I think the loop is a terrible disease placed on woodies by SOB, luckily we haven't seen one since, leave the loops to the steel coasters.

I'd walk through hell in a gasoline suit to keep riding roller coasters
Loops are for steel coasters, not wooden ones!!!
I personally hope to see no more looping woodies. Loops just ruin the classic feeling of a wooden coaster. If I want a looping coaster, I will ride a steel coaster!

Some people say that woodies are about airtime and laterals, others say they don't like the lapbars. Those observations are fine and good, but I don't think that there should be any general statements applied to any type of coaster.

Not all steel coasters are all about speed, inversions, height, etc - who's to say that all woodies should be about one element or another? If that's your personal preference, that's great, but other people may appreciate the variety of experiences different coasters have to offer. A "plethera" of experiences, if you will. :)

SOB is about heights, speed, and a loop. Different strokes for different folks.

(EDIT) Coastersrz, the search button hasn't been working for most people for some time. I'm pretty sure Jeff said he's working on a fix for it, though.

You are forgeting one thing, woodies can have steel structures. I belive Villian @ SFWoA is mostly steel structured. I know that Zeus @ Big Chief's is 1/2 steel, 1/2 wood. CI Cyclone I belive is steel. Of course, even though that would solve the problem of using too much wood, I still don't like it. Woodies are not supposed to go above 130 feet!

Cyclops. 1900 feet of CCI goodness.
i think the reason no one is building them is they wanted to wait and see how SOB did, and then when it opened it had tons of malfunctions, and was down alot of the time, so i think alto of parks are waiting to see if PKI can find away around it, and so on.
