Playland coaster renovation sparks opinions

Westchester County Executive Ken Jenkins says the iconic Dragon Coaster at Playland in Rye is getting an update before the season starts in May. Photos of the 97-year-old coaster's current dragon head removed from the ride and pictured in a dumpster circulated on social media groups, with concerned residents and fans of the near-centennial amusement park wondering about the future of the ride.

Honestly I hope there's some manufacturing issue, maybe involving tariffs, that causes the replacement to be delayed so Playland can go the entire summer with a headless, tail-less dragon and this can be a major issue in this year's County Executive campaign.
