Interesting change of direction here: raising prices and cutting back features. Not sure how well this one will go over: https://www.wcpo.com/money/...lags-parks
I think I posted this in the other thread, but the CF parks used to do this more or less every year. The Fall renewal price is the lowest of the year, and usually includes some kind of sweetener. The sweetener drops off then price goes up until it peaks sometime during the season.
You mean it was cheaper when it was on sale? How 'bout dat.
But seriously, the price needed to go up. I hope other SF parks follow. Maybe this will lead to lower crowds and higher profit.
The prestige pass is still affordable. $54 initial payment, then $9 a month for nine months, is reasonable and affordable to almost anyone.

The thing is once the original limted time ends they can stop it at any point. Thinking they would keep extending it is not a reason to be mad that they didn't extend it again. This isn't selling passes in the fall of the preceeding year and then canceling a winter event or adding a charge to mazes that were free.
This is more like not buying something expecting a Black Friday sale and then one not happening.
What this does make me wonder is what again happens to those of us with legacy memberships in Six Flags. In August we were told we had the all park access starting in January, but will that be honored?
All in all, the price increase isn't surprising, though I am a bit surprised about the downgrade in features so quickly.
What features... It's the normal Cedar Fair Pass rules they are doing if you compare to that we are looking at the normal Gold and Prestige season pass rules are what they are using at KI. Which is where this media outlet is local to.
They got complaints last year about not announcing the charge for mazes in Haunt. This time it's spelled out.
