After 45 years of serving El Paso, the amusement park is picking up stakes and moving. The owner of Western Playland expects to have many of the park's rides relocated to the new location in Sunland Park (NM) by the summer of 2006. Patrick Thomson says his current landlord, El Paso County, never gave his business a chance to grow at Ascarate Park and he said the new location will allow for "bigger and better things."
