Two serious proposals offered for future of Astrodome

Of the seven applicants submitting grand designs for renewing the Astrodome, only two show serious potential or financial backing, a review of the applicants shows. A group calling itself Astrodome Redevelopment Corp. offers an intriguing mix of companies, including Falcon's Treehouse, a Florida-based design firm that touts its work for Hard Rock Cafe. Its founder has designed major theme park rides. Another company, NBGS International of New Braunfels, is a sister firm to the company that owns the Schlitterbahn water park. It designs water slides and attractions.
