Around 10 o'clock Friday morning a water spout, off the shore of Myrtle Beach right near the Pavilion, turned into a violent tornado. Luckily there were no deaths and only nine minor injuries involving flying pieces of glass. The tornado formed right next to the Pavilion and touched down just south of it. Many hotels were severely damaged, but the amusement park has only minor damages not involving the rides. The rides will however have to be inspected very carefully before running again.
