Kings Island reopened the popular wooden roller coaster at 2 p.m. Wednesday for Fourth of July crowds, but without its famed 118-foot loop. The coaster was closed after an accident sent 27 riders to area hospitals in July of last year. An Ohio Department of Agriculture report pointed to a design flaw that caused a wooden beam to crack because it couldn't support the weight of riders.
