Six Flags Worlds of Adventure gets approval for whales

An amusement park has won federal approval to import a formerly beached killer whale activists said should have been returned to the wild. The National Marine Fisheries Service issued the permit Thursday for the whale and another orca. Six Flags Worlds of Adventure plans to have them at the park by the end of the summer. Six Flags applied for the permit last October to import the whales for the former Sea World park it purchased last year. Sea World's three popular orcas were not part of the sale.
