Six Flags Great Adventure hosts event for people with autism

In collaboration with Gersh Academy, a nationwide network of 10 private schools based in Huntingdon, N.Y., Great Adventure was closed to the general public on Thursday for Autism Day 2018. Roller coasters like Nitro and the Dark Knight thrilled and chilled as usual, but for families and groups of children with autism, a developmental disorder characterized by communication and social interaction problems that vary in severity along what's known as the autism spectrum.
